I'm Phuong Toan Tran (aka Toan), a photographer based in Lausanne.
My story
I've always been surrounded by artisans and their craft. Growing up, I witnessed my parents’ dedication as they constantly strove to perfect their craft — one of them as a chef, and the other one as a seamstress. From a young age, I was captivated by their commitment and passion. As a teenager, I began exploring visual arts, uncovering the magic that a simple pencil could create on a sheet of paper. Later on, my journey took me into engineering — a craft in its own right —where I honed skills in the biomedical field, and then in artificial intelligence. After eight years in engineering, I felt the pull to reconnect with art and craftsmanship. It was then that photography became both my passion and profession. My engineering background now complements my creative work, providing me with a structured, efficient, yet creative approach to crafting impactful visuals.
Today, I help Swiss brands attract more customers by creating visuals that are as authentic and compelling as their craft and events.
When I'm not taking photos?
You can find me hiking in nature, traveling around the world, exploring new meditation practices, or cooking some homey food.
